Neck Pain Treatment in Springdale, AR
Necks rarely hurt in isolation. They hurt because the shoulder blades and the upper back stopped sharing the workload, and the small muscles at the base of the skull picked up the slack.
Massage helps for a day. Changing what the neck is being asked to hold up helps for good.
What it feels like
- Tightness from the base of the skull into the shoulder tops
- Headaches that start behind the eyes late in the day
- Trouble checking a blind spot without turning the whole torso
- A pinching feeling when you press overhead
- Numbness or tingling running toward the hand
What usually causes it
- Upper back stiffness pushing extra motion into the neck
- Shoulder blade muscles that cannot hold position under fatigue
- Deep neck flexors that never get trained
- Hours in one posture without a reset
- An old whiplash or collision that changed how you move
How we assess and treat it
We test neck range, upper back mobility, shoulder blade control and nerve mobility, then work out whether your symptoms are coming from the joint, the muscle or the nerve. The answer changes the treatment completely.
Hands-on mobilization of the neck and upper back opens the range. Dry needling settles the guarding muscles that keep pulling it back. Then we train the deep neck and scapular muscles to hold the new position.
If your job is the driver, we rebuild the workstation and the daily reset with you rather than telling you to sit up straight.

What patients say
“I am back on the soccer field. The plan was built around my sport, not around resting.”
Frequently asked questions
- Can physical therapy help my headaches?
- Headaches that come from the neck often respond well to manual therapy and neck strengthening. The assessment tells us quickly whether yours fit that pattern.
- Is dry needling used for neck pain?
- It can be, when muscles are actively guarding. It is one tool inside the hour, never the whole treatment.
- My arm tingles. Is that serious?
- It needs a proper exam. We test nerve mobility and strength, and we refer out if anything in the exam calls for it.
- Do you treat in Spanish?
- Yes. Dr. Hernandez treats in English and Spanish.
