Hip Pain Treatment in Springdale, AR

Hip pain is easy to mislabel. Front-of-hip pinching, outside-hip ache and deep glute pain all get called the same thing and treated the same way — which is why so many people cycle through stretching that never sticks.

The hip is the engine for sprinting, cutting and squatting. It responds well to being loaded correctly, and poorly to being left alone.

What it feels like

  • A pinch in the front of the hip at the bottom of a squat
  • Deep ache in the side of the hip when lying on it
  • Groin pain when kicking, cutting or accelerating
  • Stiffness getting out of a car or off the couch
  • A hip that feels like it needs to pop all day

What usually causes it

  • Glute strength that cannot control the femur under speed
  • Restricted hip rotation loading the joint at the end range
  • Adductor overload from cutting and kicking sports
  • Trunk control that lets the pelvis drop during single-leg work
  • Training volume added faster than tendon capacity

How we assess and treat it

We separate joint from tendon from muscle with targeted testing, then watch you squat, hinge, run and change direction. Field sport athletes get tested on the movements that actually hurt.

Hands-on work restores rotation and settles the irritated tissue. Then we load: heavy, slow strength for tendons, then speed and change-of-direction work for the sport.

Soccer players get particular attention to adductors and hip rotation, because that is where the season is usually lost.

What a plan of care looks like

  1. 01

    Weeks 1–2

Reduce irritation and restore rotation. Isometrics that give relief and start building capacity.

  2. 02

    Weeks 3–6

Heavy, controlled strength for glutes and adductors. Single-leg control under real load.

  3. 03

    Weeks 7+

Sprinting, cutting and return to full training with a clear reintroduction schedule.

What patients say

The first visit was a full hour and I actually felt heard for the first time.

Frequently asked questions

Is stretching enough for tight hips?
Rarely. Most hips that feel tight are actually under-controlled. Strength through the range holds better than stretching alone.
Can I keep playing soccer during rehab?
Often yes, with managed minutes. We build the reintroduction with you instead of pulling you off the field.
What if my pain is in the groin?
Groin pain gets specific adductor testing. It is common in cutting sports and responds well to progressive loading.
Do you treat hip pain in runners?
Yes, including running mechanics and volume planning as part of the plan.
